The decoration of the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra is focused almost exclusively on the indoor areas, leaving the main façade plain and unadorned. This is typical of the Al-Andalus period, since the domestic architecture of the time was designed towards the interior private courtyard. This mural decoration included most notably the tempera-painting with plant motifs. A clear example is Casa de los Girones, where the baseboards are engraved with medallions and plant motifs. They are installed up to a height of 2 metres, and finished off with wall hanging decorative tapestry. The following selection of products are based on these paintings and tapestry which  will undoubtedly  make your interior fitted out with an unique atmosphere:

Did you know that...?

The word mandala comes from a Sanskrit word meaning circle or disk. Hinduism and Buddhism used them as a tool for meditation. It spread throughout the whole of the East, and this motif appeared in all kinds of techniques; from household items to architecture, or even the Quran. In Al-Andalus, mandalas were studied more specifically by their geometric forms. Not only do these mandalas focus your attention, but they also allow you to improve your skills of perception, synthesis, and concentration. Discover the world of mandalas with this selection of colouring books:
